Tyler Groskopf
Class
of 2007 |
Tyler
is freestyler at Eastern Michigan University on a swimming
scholarship. He is considering a major in Physical Therapy or
something in a related field. Tyler is finding himself with
little downtime but on the rare occasion he has some, it's usually
spent sleeping, watching movies or hanging out with his
girlfriend.
Favorite CAST
memory: There are too many to pick just one.

Emily Kasavana
Class
of 2006 |
Emily
is in the Business school at Indiana University, studying Business Economics and Public Policy. She is
Vice President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is a rowing
captain
for Hoosier
Women's Crew.
Favorite CAST
memories: Ultimate Frisbee; Panera in
Grand Rapids sitting by the fire with Sara Mc and Kristin; Sparty's
after practice in the summer.
Words of
wisdom: "There is more to life than being really really
ridiculously good looking." I am very grateful for my experiences with
CAST. I met my best friends and found an amazing support system through
my time spent in the pool. Most importantly I learned that being
loud and crazy are valuable characteristics and that singing and
dancing can get you through almost anything... specifically workouts (a
lesson that I have introduced to the Indiana Rowing family). |

Sara McDaniel
Class
of 2006 |
Sara is attending Arizona State University on a swimming
scholarship,
where she is a Communications major with an English Literature
minor.
She swims sprint
freestyle and breaststroke for the Sun Devils, and is the Student
Athlete Advisory Committee representative for the team. She wants
everyone to know that fellow CAST alums Emily
Kasavana and Andy Whittam
are still her best friends in the entire world ever.
Favorite CAST
memory: Eating breakfast at Sparty's after every Friday
morning workout during summers.
Words of
wisdom: You should always try to have more fun than it
seems like should be allowed... oh, and whining doesn't make practice
go by faster (even though it definitely should). |

Andrew is an economics major at the
University of Michigan, set to graduate in 2008. He is both coaching
and swimming on an intramural team (The Sonic Boom); he also
practices Bujinkan Budo Taijitsu (martial art). Any free
time Andrew has is spent serving and bartending part-time at Applebee's
or playing frisbee.
Favorite CAST
memories: Playing Ultimate Frisbee during dryland, working on
flip turns with Kristin. |

University. Central has no swim team, but he is active in both
the swimming
and running clubs on campus. James is
involved in advertising for Moore Media Records
(a student-run record label) and plans on majoring in Broadcast and
Cinema Arts with a minor in Advertising. He has recently competed
in two triathlons and is
training for an upcoming third.
Favorite CAST
memory: Playing football with Dan at
practice during his junior year of high school.
Words of
wisdom: Don't take yourself too seriously and have fun
while you swim, or you will miss out on a lot of things life has to
offer.
