Damon Robertson
Title:               Head Coach/Mr. Fix It
Hometown:     DeWitt, MI
Email:             coachdtr1@hotmail.com
InfoDamon spent a year as head age group coach before being elevated to his current position; he coaches for the satisfaction of teaching kids new skills and helping them to swim all four strokes to the best of their ability. Before coming to CAST, he developed at DeWitt Swim Club as their head coach for many years.  Damon is currently working in several capacities with the Michigan Swimming governing body and has coached the Michigan Zone Team for several years.  If by some rare chance Damon is not doing something associated with CAST or Michigan Swimming, you can probably find him refurbishing his house.  Damon's taste has some retro flair: included among his favorites are Beatles music and The Empire Strikes Back.  Not-so-retro: his taste for pork chops.

Rick Edwards
Seniors
Title:               Assistant Coach/Friendly Neighborhood Guru
Hometown:     East Lansing, MI
Email:             RJAEdwards@aol.com
InfoMr. Edwards has been coaching for thirty-five years and was the National High School Coach of the Year in 2002.  He currently serves as the NISCA Director for Zone 4 and has had as least one swimmer in every Olympic Trials since 1984.  Coach Edwards was awarded the 2000 NISCA Outstanding Service Award and is a member of both the Greater Lansing Sports and Michigan Coaches Halls of Fame. He has coached more than 100 High School All-Americans and is a past president of the Michigan Swimming Coaches Association.  He is also really, really ridiculously good-looking.

Erica Cook
Sharks & Middle School
Title:               Assistant Coach/Chinese Ambassador
Hometown:     China.  The whole country.
Email:             cookeri5@msu.edu
InfoShe doesn't look Chinese to you?  Her family lives there!  Erica is actually a native of Midland, Michigan and now attends Michigan State as an International Relations major.  Erica spends her free time cross-country skiing and watching reruns of Charles In Charge.  In the upcoming presidential race, Erica supports Scott Baio as a write-in candidate.  If she looks hungry, she would probably appreciate a grilled cheese-and-tomato sandwich - no pickles.

Laura Larson
Developmental & Middle School
Title:               Assistant Coach/Assistant Chinese Ambassador
Hometown:     Mount Prospect, IL
Email:             larsonl4@msu.edu
InfoLaura is one of two International Relations majors on our staff, a fortunate occurence as her association with Erica Cook has helped to strengthen Sino-Larson relations.  Laura's favorite food is creamed herring, preferably on saltine crackers.  She is a huge pro-wrestling fan - her room is covered in posters of Shawn "The Heartbreak Kid" Michaels.  Something you should know about Laura: she only owns one pair of socks.

Claire Leonard
Developmental & Middle School
Title:               Assistant Coach/Lifeguard Extraordinaire
Hometown:     Ann Arbor, MI
Email:             leonar91@msu.edu
InfoA Finance major at Michigan State, Claire came to CAST after coaching with the Vets Dolphins in Ann Arbor for 4 years.  On the Vets staff, she served as assistant coach for her first two years and head coach for the remaining two.  Everyone who swims with Claire feels especially safe because we've had the chance to see her razor-sharp rescue skills in action.  Claire is a big fan of Law And Order, and likes her popcorn with a side of My Best Friend's Wedding.

Will Rogers-Snodgrass
Sharks, Developmental & Middle School
Title:               Assistant Coach/Homeboy
Hometown:     Holt, MI
Email:             rogerssn@msu.edu
InfoWill has been a part of CAST as both a coach and a swimmer.  Born and raised in Holt, Will came up through the CAST club program and swam for Holt High School; the combination of the two produced six state championships in breaststroke events.  Will enjoys coaching because he's really just a big kid at heart - it gives him an outlet to play and share his considerable swimming experience with the next crop of CAST champions.  When Will is not coaching, he spends his time bowling and reading vintage copies of National Geographic.

Dan Schemmel
Sharks & Developmental
Title:               Assistant Coach/Cattle Wrangler
Hometown:     Rockford, MI
Email:             schemme4@msu.edu
InfoDan is a Psychology major at Michigan State and spreads his swimming knowledge to anyone who will listen.  When he is not on deck, you can find him eating, sleeping or laughing somewhere else - probably in his slippers.  If you see Dan, ask him what it was like to watch his teammate achieve his Olympic Trial cut (it's his favorite swimming memory).  Dan is fan of The Office, a Calvin & Hobbes connoisseur, and has proven his excellent taste in cinema by selecting The Goonies as his favorite movie.  Go rent it immediately.  It's terrific.

David Snodgrass
Developmental
Title:               Assistant Coach/Next Big Thing
Hometown:     Holt, MI
Email:             beowulf808@gmail.com
InfoDavid is not related to Will - notice the absence of "Rogers" in his moniker.  He is, however, affectionately known as "Drs" (sounds like it's spelled).  The "R" does not stand for Rogers.  It stands for Righteous.  Ask him.  Coincidentally,  Drs also hails from Holt and had considerable success during his high school career.  In breaststroke.  We are still maintaining that he is not related to Will.  David is a huge Harry Potter fan and plans to Trick-Or-Treat as Professor Severus Snape for Halloween.  He also plans to Trick-Or-Treat as Severus Snape for Easter.

Kristin Stahley
Seniors & Age Group
Title:               Assistant Coach/Resident Kook
Hometown:     Livonia, MI
Email:             kristin.stahley@gmail.com
InfoKristin started coaching because she enjoys the concept of sport as a microcosm for life and loves what swimming can teach specifically.  When she's not dancing around a pool deck, she's probably singing badly in her car or freaking out over fantasy football (or March Madness, seasonally dependent).  Kristin has a B.A. from Kalamazoo College, is pursuing her Masters in Public Policy and Administration at Wayne State University and works as the distribution coordinator at Seedlings Braille Books for Children.  The best tools for bribing Kristin are burritos and large cups of coffee.  Kristin was named to USA Today Weekend's Top Ten Most Caring Coaches in the United States for 2008.

Mark Tomczak
Sharks & Developmental
Title:               Assistant Coach/Brian Hoyer
Hometown:     North Olmstead, OH
Email:             tomczak5@msu.edu
InfoEver wonder why Mark Tomczak and Brian Hoyer are never seen in the same place at the same time?  Think about it.  Mark is happy to have the opportunity to finally take over as starting quarterback, but maintains that Drew Stanton is "a really good guy" and he learned a lot as his understudy for two seasons.  Mark apologizes to all of the Spartan fans for getting their hopes up at the beginning of the 2007 season.  Also, he really likes chocolate cake.
